Team Kinks! I’m all up on yo screen discussing foreheads and ponytails. I always felt due to the size of my head and the width of my forehead low ponytails would be unflattering on me. I have stirred away from it for years. The first time I tried it all I saw was a man with a long ponytail. I pretty much saw my brother. I have strong features and at the time I didn’t know the beauty of these features, I just saw it as a hindrance and something to be covered. So I would always wear hairstyles that covered the true size of my head. I would wear swooped styles that hid the “five fingers” forehead and overall brought less attention.

Have you ever had an itchy scalp result after using aloe vera on your natural hair? Well, this might be the cause. Did you know fresh aloe vera can have poison in the leaf called “Aloin” aka “aloe latex”? This aloe latex has more harmful effects internally than it does externally. However, it can affect your skin in such a way that results in itchiness or rashes. If not cleaned out well your experience with using fresh aloe vera on your natural hair might not be as enjoyable as the majority. It’s my wash day and I just want to chat about caring, maintaining, loving and living in your 4c natural hair.

So you have your natural hair in a protective style. It’s itchy and has a smell to it. People say apple cider vinegar can clean but you notice it doesn’t really get the job done. You don’t want to use shampoo but you need an alternative. In this video, I bring back an oldie but goodie. Dry shampoo! No not the one for the type 1 hair but let us think of this as the one for us who protective style. Its in liquid form and cleans out easily. A DIY Moisturizing Hair Growth Mask on 4c Natural Hair this is part of my Ayurvedic Hair Care Wash day. I started with cleansing my 4c hair with Bentonite and Rhassoul Clay and now its time to deep condition/hair mask. In this mix are ingredients that grow stronger hair, condition, strengthen, moisturize, treat, and improves the overall health of your natural hair. Please modify as needed the main ingredients are the Ayurvedic powders Amla, Brahmi, Neem. If you don’t have all you can use just the Amla or Brahmi.
